It's ok, You didn't miss anything at all.

For some reason unknown to everyone, the "Portal" console had a malfunction and did not allow anyone to transport to IO. :Sikliiissstttt:

I tried to link with Bandie, but I did not get a reply from him after he said that he was ready to "host". :ké boulet:

I think that POD must have caused a meltdown to his system. I wonder what happened to him. :keskidi:

On the other hand I have to figure out why the IP#'s are not communicating with each other. :roswell:

perhaps some players could do a 'test' session and see if their pcs connect? :?

that is, just see if players can connect, not a full game (resist the temptation!!!) :D

hopefully i will be able to create a 'test' session to see if connections work tonight if anyone is intrested...

btw ip is 81.154.89.237 ;) :)

time: between 18.00 to 21.00 BST (British Summer time)

still may be a problem as i use a proxy server for my pod pc :?: :?:

Three possible scenarios have come to mind: :keskidi:

 1)- I have noticed that some IP# have 12 digits and some 11 such as mine, I wonder if that makes a difference when the PC's have to connect with each other.

 2)- For instance I don't have a NIC installed because I have cable modem USB-connected, maybe communication is possible thru NIC on both ends only? or both PC's with cable modems?, perhaps I'll install one just to see if it makes a difference.

 3)- The one and only time I tried to "host", I realized That I made one mistake in setting up the session. After writing the IP# and clicking CALL or ANSWER, I was supposed to click OK "after" the connection was established "not" before.

I don't know if any of these parameters were the reasons for the "Portal" not working. It might be worth looking in to them.

Want to find out what everybody thinks of this. If anyone knows of any other possible reason the "Portal" might not work, please reply.

IPs arent always the same length for certain reasons for example 81.154.89.237 and 217.47.207.250. This shouldn't affect connections :?:. I guess my test didn't work as i was using a proxy so will have to do it here (main pc) but can't play due to directx's no textures problem in windows xp  . Don't forget that ip's change with some connections so be careful.

Good news; The "Portal" was open and communication was possible. :trink:

I linked with Bandie and ran a few races. :jmeulapete:

IO still looks the same as the last time I visited thru the GS Console. :rob:

It was great to be back at the tracks. :boulets qui sautent:
