Re: DGVOODOO ZIP FILE WHAT FILES ARE NEEDED?

I believe only two files are required for POD:
-glide2x.dll
-dgvoodoosetup.exe

Um, this is not finished yet, right?

'Cause I don't mean to be insulting here, but it looks like someone tired to make a cross between Fallen and Arcade while under the influence of psychotropic substances.

No way to move background for what i know. Only "solution" would be to move all polygons from the tracks higher....hoping this will not create another bug (polygons hit the sky ;) ) I always thought the background does not depend on the coordinates in the map, i.e. it is always drawn with...

So, now, backgrounds can look good: http://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~sosipiuk/PODPICS/COMPARE/cocoonwithbg2.PNG ..or terrible: http://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~sosipiuk/PODPICS/COMPARE/burrowwithbg1.PNG So, how to fix this? The problem in Burrow (and also HQ) is that the background in too high...

Some stuff for sky, if anyone is interested: http://www.student.cs.uwaterloo.ca/~sosipiuk/PODPICS/COMPARE/skyhex.JPG As with Skubi's example, "sky.tga" string (dark blue) There are multiple instances of this string; this is the last one. Before that, 3 DWORDs (green), all set to 01 (little...

Thank you Skubi... But is there any tool for re-encrypting tracks? PODpaint can decrypt them but I see no way to transform back into BL4, unless I'm missing something. I just spent a lot of time comparing the encrypted file with the decrypted dump, and working out where the checksums are located in ...

Track backgrounds

This seemed like the best place to post this. I was playing with the PODpaint tool. I see that many of the original 16 tracks, such as Cocoon, Burrow, HQ, etc. that do not have backgrounds in the game actually do have background textures in the BL4. But for some reason these are never displayed in t...

Hey, I got a request. (They don't stop, do they?) Seeing as there seem to be multiple versions of certain maps (different sky), and I wanna have them cause some of mine look like crap , I'm asking anyone with a POD Gold CD to send me the BL4s of the sixteen original maps. In order of priority, I'd ...

That's becasue the environments in POD aren't very regular so they tolerate some distortion pretty well. It is distorted, you just don't notice it unless you're looking at something that's upposed to be square or circular.

- I don't see the fun to read simply a file format document. You don't see the fun, but that doesn't mean that no one can see the fun. Honestly, you seem to not have a good reason for witholding the information except to annoy Megapolpod... he annoyed you so now you want to annoy him. I will say it...

I've been on this forum (lurking, mostly) for over 2 years and I have not seen anything annoying, suspect or insulting from Megapolpod. I'm now looking at his older posts and although he asked a lot of questions that might be considered annoying, he seems to me to be a person very interested and eag...

This is really sad. :( It seems the decision has been made. Skubi and the others, for whatever reason, do not want to give out information. That is disappointing. Not only that, but now they're cracking jokes about it. And they're not even funny jokes, just stupid. What is the reason for this behavi...

Skubi, at this point there are very few people left who have interest in POD, and I don't know of any other places besides this forum and Bandie's where they hang out. I think anything that keeps people interested in POD is a good thing. If some fool who can't put in the effort creates a modified ve...

Some of you said that you don't have enough time and/or interest in working on POD in one or the other way, which I totally understand. We all have a life besides POD. But why not share information with others who are willing to try to improve something? It's not doing any harm and at the end of th...

In a few more years we should have a perfect emulator available. You can install POD on that. Emulators come out when the thing they're supposed to emulate is too hard to obtain, and as you pointed out, you can pick up old systems off eBay and other places. I have a P200MMX in my closet. They're not...

Depends on what dgVoodoo is set to and what options your monitor has. I think dgVoodoo will allow you to set a widescreen resolution if your monitor supports it. This will distort the image. If you set a standard aspect ratio resolution in dgVodoo, and your monitor has the option of how to scale, yo...
